  1. Alright I'm new to this whole DVD thing I have a lot of questions and I hope you be able to help me please, and thank you.

Question One: I went to the store to buy Burnable DVD's and there were two types of discs + and - , whats the differnce and how do I know which one my computer will burn?

Question Two: Whats a good program I can use to burn Dvd's?

Question Three: How do I burn a movie from my computer on my disc with the program?

Question Four: How can I set up a custom menu on my disc and what program will do that?

Questions Five: How can I put multiple movies on that disc?

Question Six: How can I make it so that it can play on my dvd player?

I know it may seem like a lot but I kinda wanted to ask before I just wasted money trying to do it myself.

You should try using search and google to do some basic research as well. All of these questions have been answered many, many times before.

Answer One : Read your manual

Answer Two : ConvertXtoDVD to convert, Imgburn to burn

Answer Three : Read the ConvertXtoDVD manual and the guides on the Imgburn site

Answer Four : TDA or use the ConvertXtoDVD menu

Answer Five : Import the files you want to burn. More than 2 90 minute movies will look like crap.

Answer Six : If you use ConvertXtoDVD and burn with ImgBurn then you have a DVD. Just pop it in and play.

    Read the guides.

It only took me 9 months of reading, buying parts, building a computer, and learning from people like Baldrick and others here before I burned a working disc.

If you read the guides: See Left, under "HOW TO", it'll take much less time than it took me.

Yes - it means it doesn't work. Now you have to work out why. Use G-spot to open your source file, then post a screenshot.

How are you taking the screenshot ?
Did you read the post ZippyP linked to ?

Screenshots go into the clipboard. You have to paste them into something (even mspaint will do) and save them.

If you don't want the trial version watermark, you could try the old freeware version, DivxtoDVD. It's not quite as good though. Or look at some freeware solutions, such as DIKO or avi2dvd.

I can't see anything wrong with the file as far as the specs are concerned. The usual suspect is VBR MP3 audio, but yours is CBR. There could be a corruption in the file, which is something g-spot won't pick up.

Try a different program on it.

Maybe VirtualDub (or any of it's common variants), load the file..Then Video -> Scan video stream for errors and see if it comes up with something?

Depends on the program that it accepts, I'd suggest getting an easy program to use like Ulead Movie Maker or Ulead Video Studio.
