  1. I converted my avi into an mpeg 2 with HCEnc and i demuxed the audio using VirtualDubMod. I then converted the audio to AC3 using AftenGUI. I also used AC3Gain posted by a member of the forum to increase the volume of the sound. When i muxed eveything using MuxMAn, the sound plays 7-8 seconds before the video. I tried using the time delay but i couldnt get it properly.
    What should i do?

    Thanks!

Try using delaycut to fix the AC3 before muxing

  3. Thanks mate! It worked! But why did it happen in the first place?
I think i might have made a mistake while converting with AftenGUI.
I just converted with the default settings i.e CBR mode 384 kbps. Can you specify the settings to be used? The source AVI has no such Audio problem.

Some audio has a delay built in, sometimes avi files have glitches from downloading, and sometimes VBR MP3 does odd things when converted.

Regardless, it's good that it is sorted.

Very hard to tell for sure. Sampling rate of the audio can have an impact, skipped video frames, many issues can be at fault.
