  1. Hi folks,

I have searched and searched different posts and forums and I did not see an answer to my problem ...

FYI, I am running windows XP and installed the AutoGK 2.40 Stable version ... however, I run it off of an external Hard Drive ...

Every time it runs thru it's thing ... However, it DOES NOT creat a Video ... just Audio and not a Final product.

I am using a portion of a DVD that I have ... just a Clip for the testing purposes so I am not waiting for hours on the encoding.

I am attaching my "Logfile" may be someone can shed a light.

    THANKS,
    G!

  2. Hi-

The solution I've seen from other posts is to uninstall everything, and then reinstall everything. Start by uninstalling your XviD codec, followed by AviSynth, followed by AutoGK. Then reinstall AutoGK, including XviD and AviSynth:

  3. Hi Manono,

Thanks for the quick reply ... we'll do.

    Couple of questions though ...

Q1: for XviD ... does it come with AutoGK? If so, just go with that one or install the version 1.1.2 Final?

Q2: After I make sure AutoGK is working ... Would it be OK if I upgrade some of it's components ... for example DGMPGDec and so forth? Will it work?

    THANKS Agian,
    G!

  4. Hi-

Yes, XviD comes with AutoGK. I think he has a special version he got from a celtic_druid compile, so I don't think I'd use a different version. AutoGK was updated to 2.40 in December, and the XviD used is from the same period. So it's pretty up to date.

Q2: After I make sure AutoGK is working ... Would it be OK if I upgrade some of it's components ... for example DGMPGDec and so forth? Will it work?

I'm not positive, but I think you're OK to update the DGMPGEnc (both DGDecode.dll and DGIndex), the AviSynth, or other parts. You'll know soon enough if your first encode doesn't complete. If I were you, though, since you had this Range Check Error, I'd try it out after reinstalling, using only the included apps. If you don't get that error any more, and everything seems OK, only then would I mess around updating the DGMPGEnc. But you know that already.
