I'm using the Pb, Pr, Y component video input on a ceiling mounted projector. There is no tuner in it (are there any?) What I'd like to do is be able to run a switch for a DVD Player, (has Component outputs), The output of a dish receiver, (has component outputs) and a composite video sigle from antyhing else that we may want to incorporate that only has the yellow video out. Is there such a device, or group of devices, That I could accomplish this with?

There are passive and active switch boxes

Walmart usually carries a cheap one marketed by Philips.

I use this one, about $80US: http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=3108&sku=40324 It has a small remote control and switches optical and component video, and stereo audio if needed. I feed the optical audio to my surround sound amplifier for 5.1 surround sound. It will handle 3 source inputs.

For really cheap, (About $20US)you can use this from Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2049645&cp=2032057.2032187.20321...entPage=family It works well, with four inputs and a manual switch. You use the 2 audio and 1 video connector for each component channel. The sound can be sent to the amplifier separately and the amp does the sound selection.

Maybe i've mis understood the post, but surely what you would do best with in this situation is an Audio/Visual AMP.

This would act as the switch for your inputs (video out to the projector) and the audio for which ever input device you select will come out through your home cinema or stereo speakers, depending on your set up.

This is the way most people (and indeed I) set up to use a ceiling mounted projector. My setup had the following inputs:

    Sky TV
    DVD
    VHS Video
    XBOX

all switched by the amp to be able to use the ceiling mounted projector.

Apologies if i've mis understood, but this is by far the most obvious / straightforward solution.

Note, make sure you know exactly which input/outputs and how many of each you'll require, as every amp has a different amount of each!

    -hope this helps.
