  1. Hi

I've always used SUPER to convert FLV files to DivX or XviD but now I want to convert an FLV file to a normal AVI file so that I cant play it in my VCD/DVD player. How can I do it?

avi is a just a container. You have to choose how the video is stored by selecting a codec. Divx and Xvid are video compression codecs that can be put into an avi container.

Perhaps you need to be clearer in your question.

to play on a DVD player , the player has to be Dvix compatible, its more common than it used to be, but my player i bought 2yrs ago does not play dvix files

if your player is Dvix compatible, it is probably easiest just to download Dvix 6 creator from the official website and use that to convert your files, then you burn a data disc or menu disc with the files

I have never done this, other here can recommend the programs to use and the formats you need

Supposedly, the newest version of SUPER has no problems handling all forms of FLV, too, and converting to AVI. I wouldn't recommend installing the current version, though, as it reportedly has a number of problems that are (also reportedly) fixed in a new build to be released sometime soon.
