I'm trying to convert a xvid avi file that has a ac3 sound file. I'm reading the guide on how to convert it to vcd so I can play it on my dvd player. And It's been said that mp2 audio works on almost all dvd players. What I wanted to ask is can tell me step-by-step how to convert wav to, mp2 with the two programs metioned in more detail than given since I have gotten to the point of converting the ap3 to wav.

    Thank You.

Ps this is the guide I'm using.

For VCD you do not have a choice but to use MP2 audio.

Use the Belight GUI instead - it is newer and more intuitive.

In that mode it's looking for the last wave file you converted, which probably has been deleted since. Up on the top left of the main screen, under "Locations", use the "Input" selector to find your file.

I generally use the "Wizard" mode, simpler than the full-on one, it has all the options I need. But for some odd reason, when you do "Select source" it doesn't show you .wav files as a "Supported file". But if you right-click on the little arrow to the right of the "file type" box, and change to "All files", you can see and select wave files.

To convert from WAV to MP2 you could use tooLame and the tooLAME Gui

This little program is simple, yet very powerful.
