Hi ! Sent my 8mm film (no sound) in to be put on a DVD, but it needs further editing... ie.. removing frames, moving frames around. They are sending me a hard drive with the individual frames in a mp2 file format. What do I need to do to be able to edit these frames and then burn to a DVD, so that I can send it to family?

    Any help would be appreciated....

You need an editing program to cut the video down to the parts you want, perhaps add transitions, titles and background music. Then you need an authoring program to create menus and chapters and perhaps combine separate videos onto one disk with a menu to access each one. Then you need to burn the authored video to dvd.

There are programs which will do it all and perhaps others may suggest some for you.

Personally I use MVW for editing. It will do cuts and transitions and it can add audio. It preserves quality as it will only re-encode where necessary, like at a transition. That's important and not all programs will do that.

Authoring/ burning I do with TDA.
