Hi, the thing is this. All my conversions of avi files to mpeg or direct to dvd are finishing up with no sound. Or possibly more correctly, no sound i can hear, period, no matter how high i yank the volume.
I was using tmpgenc succesfully, along with Ulead dvd workshop and occasionaly Nero, but they all went pear shaped after i converted
    a particular dvd.
Even stuff i converted prior to this now have zero audio. I've tried Gspot, and it details the various audio codecs, which are all installed, but when i try to render the audio Gspot crashes. This happens with ac3, mp3,mp2.. Yet i can play mp3 files in winamp no prob.
I've tried several other conversion programs with the same result, some even crash out on me. I've tried DVD Audio extractor, which sees the audio and successfully rips it, giving me a big file in whichever format, .wav, or mp3, and the file plays perfectly, a good hour and a half of pure nothin'.
This only happens with mpgs. Dvd images from previous rips or conversions work fine when mounted. The original .avi files work fine too. I've searched the forums here and elsewhere, but found no answer as yet, so any insight would be greatly appeciated. Thanks in advance,

Interesting P.S. I've discoverd that Convert2DVD will successfully convert the files, with audio intact. Just really crappy menus tho'.
