hello! i'm newbie here. anyone please help. is it possible to modify a dvd player to make it skip free just like a portable cd player? thanks in advance!!!

No. Home DVD players are not really made to move around while playing a disc. Even with a portable DVD player, it's not much better. The tracks on a DVD are much smaller than a CD and much of any movement will lose the tracking and make the video skip. You can pad it with foam rubber, but that's about it. Not much good for jogging.
I assume you are asking about vibration or shaking making the player skip?
But you can purchase some players that use a solid state memory instead of discs. Like a CF card that a still camera uses.
