virtualdub 6.x locks up my computer

Ever since I got my new computer, any version 6.x of virtualdub eventually locks up my computer when capturing. Please check my computer details. I've tried setting its execution affinity and even different capture cards with no luck. This is really a bummer, since 6.x vdub works perfectly with my 550 Theater card. Version 5.x worked fine with other the capture cards, but not with the 550 card. Version 7.x beta gives me a BSOD. Other this is, all other apps/games I've run have been rock solid. No problems with using virtualvcr or iuvcr, other than I've been unable to get these apps to hook the 550 card's audio. I think I've tried everything to get the 550 audio; as a work around I'm using my sound card's audio. Any suggestions for either problem? Thanks for reading this.

Thanks Soopafresh, I've been to virtualdub.org several times, but never thought to check if they had a forum . Found a thread addressing my exact problem, and someone posted a solution (undoubtably a vdub guru) that seems to work, and it's something I'd never of think of trying. Thanks again!!!!
