    I am trying to rip my first DVD from the camcorder, i have th drivers it appears to communicate with the PC, I can eject the dvd using the dvd decrypter software so apears to be communicating. I am following the direction from this page below:

    When I get to step 5 i cant select the enable stream processing box it is greyed out. Below is a log i copied also. Looking for help.

    It is telling you why

    Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB
    You have told it not to split files, however because you have FAT32 you cannot accommodate the file it needs to create. The best option is to convert your filesystem to NTFS. Windows has an option to do this.

    Otherwise you will have to split your file into smaller chunks.

    Thanks for the help, is that an extreme solution? id be worried about losing data. Do i have any other setting options or other similar freeware software programs that might work?

    It's not difficult, however there is always a small risk of losing data, so back up first. I have done this on several machines without incident.

    So what happens after that?

    It also says Disc is empty in lower left corner


    Do I need to re download software etc? this stuff is making my head spin

    Would getting a DVD drive that plays mini added to by PC be better the attaching the camcorder??

    Looking for more help.

    Nothing. All you are doing is changing the file system that is used to store files on your HDD. However NTFS is a much smarter, faster file system than FAT32, and will allow you to store much larger files. All your software will continue to work, but now DVD Decrypter will be able to demux the entire stream for you.
