    Hi,

    I converted a 2 movies for a friend as he is going on a trip. I converted them for his pda. Conversion was ok and was working on PC but when we transfered it on his mobile it gave error unknown codec "Yv12". I checked my compression setting in virtualDUb and in Xvid codec it showed yv12.dll codec.

    What happened to my xvid codec ? How to get it back to xvid.dll and stuff..

    Any help

    YV12 is a colour space, not a codec. Open the avi in g-spot and see what it says.

    Gspot says for the video file:
    [ISFT] VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 (build 2540/release)
    [JUNK] VirtualDubMod build 2540/release
    [USER] DivX503b1393p
    [USER] XviD0046
    ================================================== ========
    and i just double checked the codec by going into virtuadub and then into video comression:
    Video Codec Information for xVid MPEG4 Codec
    Delta frames = No
    FOURCC code = 'yv12'
    Driver name = xvidvfw.dll

    Use FourCC to change the code back to Xvid
