    hi, i'm suppose to reder a video that is not larger than 300x400 pixels.
    Also, there are suppose to be in AVI format and must use standard compression.
    What are the standard compression.
    What would you suggest i use?

    i was merely told to use a standard compression. i've no idea which compression it is.

    Probably they mean compression that windows can natively handle. In other words something old and crap like cinepak.

    Or mpeg1, it will work on most systems without needing to install anything.

    mpeg-1 in avi? Does that usually work? I know it works with ffdshow to decode.

    it's suppose to work both on windows and mac, and should not need any decoding to be viewed. is cinepak ok?

    Should definitely work on Windows and Mac. It does require decoding just that the OS' should ship with the decoder.
