    Hi.

I'm having problems running my xbox 360 on 720p mode, I have a 720p hdtv. i'm using the xbox component cables set to hdtv. I'm seeing these purple lines scrolling up on my screen on the darker screens, like load screens for example. It reminds me of what pc monitors look like on camera when you can see the refresh rate. You cant really notice this during game play, but black and dark screens display it. The thing is it dosent seem to do it as bad in 1080i mode on the xbox settings. I think my minds playing tricks on me because it seems the games dont look as good in 1080i mode tho. anyone know what im talking about?

I'm using a monster clean power surge protector & have played with the contrast settings. still have same issue.

    thanks.

I don't know about the scrolling lines. Could be a TV or a connection problem like bad grounds.

As for 1080i looking worse, two reasons:

    1. The games are native 720p
    2. 1080i is upscaled, interlaced and your TV needs to deinterlace (destructive) and downscale. Try to get 720p to work, next best is probably 480p.
