I want to setup a PC as a home entertainment center which connects directly to my TV, no PC monitor. I have looked at ATI all-in-wonder Radeon and Radeon 8500, Visiontek Personal Cinema, WinTV. But I am not sure of which one to go for...Any suggestions are gladly appriciated![]()
The most important feature is the TV out quality to standard home television.
I would like to have:
-Tivo like features: TV capture (analog and digital), Instant replay
-DVD playback on TV in full screen with litte frame dropping
-Good recording of TV programs (quality similar or better to VHS tapes)
-Reasonable Windows XP display oin TV (800x640 is enough)
-Family friendly interface to apps with little or no crashing.
The PC I am thinking of is:
WinXP on PIII 1Ghz, 128 Ram, 40Gb HD, DVD drive and CDR drive.![]()
What do people think, is it realistic to throw away the VCR player and DVD player and plug in a PC to replace them on a home TV?
Ideally I would like to spend about $250-$300anything less is a bonus. Any suggestions to improve the hardware to get better quality gladly accepted, I am a novice
