I use WinAVI Video Converter to convert Avi to DVD and i have a little problem:
Instead of making me one DVD file its creating me 2 files:
DVD_01_1
This is the movie itself.
DVD_01_2
This is the last piece of the movie - the End Credits - for some reason its making a whole new DVD file for the End Credits.
why is this happenin'?
I didnt ask for 2 files!!!
Though I followed the great guide I found in the site - it didnt help! I still get 2 DVD files after conversion.
Anyway its very simple tool and I dont know what I did wrong!
Please help me!
Im desperate!!
ThanX to anybody who tryn' to help!!!

Simple. Your movie does not fit on one DVD so it made two DVDs.
-
Solution: Ditch WinAVI, use Convertx2dvd (or even better - get a DVD player that can play DivX/XviD AVIs and skip this avi to dvd conversion business once and for all)

mats.hogberg thanx for your help to!
oldandinthe way I guess so too hehe...
By the way - about my problem with WinAvi - i forgot to mentioned - the first DVD file totals 3.98GB, and the second 43MB... weird...
Still - if someone have an idea why is it happenin' with WinAvi i'll be more then glad to hear (read...).

My advice : Uninstall WinAVI. Seek counselling. Eventually you will forget this sorry experience and move on with your life.Read my blog here.

OK, I tryed ConvertXtoDVD and now i have another problem!
After burning the DVD file I played it on my DVD (Pioneer DV-383) and I noticed that the frame is too big meaning the resolution is lower then the source (the AVI file) - It's like the conversion with ConvertXtoDVD caused frame with too much zoom in!
I tryed to change configuration with the DVD Player remote but anyway I guess it has nothing to do with my DVD Player settings!
I had an idea that I'll try to create DVD movie with other tool so I can see what causing this problem (ConvertXtoDVD -or- My DVD Player).
but I just cant find one normal tool to do so...
I wasted so much DVD-R's over this!!!
I'm so desperate!!!
Please if anybody can help me to finally create a decent DVD Movie I'll be grateful! -
ConvertXtoDVD does not zoom in the frame. You are seeing the effect of what is called Overscan (see the glossary). Then read this post for the solution : https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=323402

Thanks for the help...
I read it and in my humble opinion I didnt burned it right.
so correct my if I'm wrong - burnin' the VIDEO_TS file with ImgBurn will solve my problem?
cause till now I burned it with Recode DVD Video (Nero 7)...
I'll also say that when I play the VIDEO_TS file with PowerDVD it lookes great!
There is not Overscan problem...
it's happenin' only when i'm burning it to DVD-R and plays it on my DVD player... -

guns1inger, thanks for your help - I really appreciate it!!!
I tryed to burn with ImgBurn - I didnt worked - I'm still losing frame (overscan).

Cause when I created DVD movie with TMPGEnc DVD Author it worked fine! (no overscan)

I'm so confused! -
It doesn't matter what you use, you will lose some image area to overscan. TDA won't make any difference. It also doesn't matter how big your TV is. The overscan area is there to some degree on all TVs. When you watch anything broadcast on TV, some of the image is covered. This is why editors have 'Safe Areas' to ensure titles and action remain in view most of the time. It is the same with every DVD you watch.
The only way around it is to make the image smaller in the frame, put borders around it to fill out the resolution, and to accept that on some TVs you will see the border, and on others you may still lose some of the image.
Testing on a PC doesn't help, as PCs do not suffer from overscan, so the whole image is visible.
The solution, as mentioned, is to resize the image down, and add borders around it. The simplest method to do this is with avisynth, a script-based frameserver, and FitCD. FitCD will create a basic avisynth script for you that resizes the video and adds borders. You then load this script into ConvertXtoDVD instead of the original avi. ConvertXtoDVD will then encode the image with borders, an when you play it back, you will pretty much everything (again note : there is no standard to overscan areas). 2 blocks is usually sufficient.
Go back the post I link to earlier and follow the instructions for FitCD an avisynth.
If in doubt, post a screen shot of the encoded image so I can see if the borders are there or not. -
guns1inger - I did what you wrote in the link: (red mark)
Is there anything else i should modified before saving the script?
maybe marking "2" in the "top" and "bottom" boxes? (blue mark)
thank you very much! -
Didn't you want to output for DVD? Do you realize you're set up to output for SVCD resolution?
And many people prefer Lanczos or Lanczos4 resizing, but that's minor. Also, make sure you have your encoder encode for 4:3, as that's what you're set up for. -
Don't change the source settings (red circles) from 0. You want to set the number of overscan blocks to 2 (as it is in your screenshot).
Manono is correct about the output setting, is DVD is your aim, and also that Lanczos is the better option for resizing up -
I Changed all the Settings like you told me to,
i saved the script, loaded it to ConvertXToDVD and pressed "BuildDVD" button, and for the last 10 minutes it stucked on this:
i wanted to restore the window to see if its working and this is what i'v got:
i tried three times - nothing helped...
each time its starting to encode the video and then stuck as you can see in the picture...
when im loading an ordinary video file (not script) it doesnt happen.
anyway i decided to give up this exhausting ConvertXToDVD and try working with other tool.
Thanx for the GREAT help!!!
You're The BEST!!! -
with info from this forum
i've been loading the fitcd script into CEE to create an mpg file, then convert that file with convertx
I haven't tried using a script file in convertX
I checked convertXdvd my version doesn't list avs script files in the load window and I don't have a 'build dvd' in the menus, only BURN dvd , for the final video_ts folder after the conversion is complete, I think i have ver 2.7 basic, but i might be mistaken
i tried to load a ascript from the load project & load file ,that didn't work
so i tried to drag & drop a the AVS script onto the converX windows, all got was a file error
file incompatible, and some nuber code and a line number
