  1. I just bought a new video card, its a cheap one, e-GeForce MX 4000, and I bought it solely so I could get my computer on my tv and cant seem to get it to work through the S-VIDEO cable. I have an older TV that only has RCA and cable inputs, but my DVD recorder has S-VIDEO input, yet after reading the manual it says you have to connect it directly to the TV, no vcr or cable box in between. Is this true, or is there a way to get this to work? Thanks for your help, and i'll supply more information about anythign if you need it.

You can connect S-Video to your DVD recorder and get it to the TV that way. You do not have to have it connected directly to the TV. Just make sure the DVD recorder is on and set to the proper input before you turn on the computer otherwise the TV out function will be turned off by default if it doesn't "sense" anything on the end of the S-Video output.

A lot of video cards only feature S-Video output. To have composite output they usually come with a special adapter. I imagine that such an adapter can be bought after market.

  3. Hey thanks for all your help, i did manage to get it to work. The only thing now is that when playing a video on the tv, the video is just a little bit choppy. Not really a huge deal, but are there any settings or anything that would help with this?
