Nero Recode "not seeing" titles when creating compilation

Hello all,

Im using Nero Recode to select a few chapters to put on one DVD.
They come from different DVDs

I have copied the TS_VIDEO folders to the hard drive and when i try to "import titles" in Nero Recode by browsing to them, Nero shows the folders as EMPTY...

They were shot with my Sony DVD 405 camera, and the files are there!

When you Explore these DVDs you find the normal files in the VIDEO_TS folder?

Yes, I have all those normal DVD files in the VIDEO_TS folder... its very odd.
When i get home i can do a screen grab of the contents to show exactly whats there.

Do note that Recode imports the whole title, not individual chapters or VOBs. You would then use 'Start/End' to choose what you want to keep.

Here is an example of what I mean, though most of my DVD's work, quite a few are shown as empty in Recode.

Do you know if there is any competitive software which does the same job?

It needs to be a playable DVD. I never have to go to the VIDEO_TS folder, simply clicking on the main folder opens the title. Is that a playable DVD or just a collection of files? It certainly looks odd.

Yes it plays in my dvd player... it is a dvd-rw disk which was finalised and unfinalised several times, which is why it has so many titles.

Do you know of other software that has more options, for example to choose a CHAPTER instead of a TITLE?

DVD Shrink ? It is basically recode before Ahead employed the author to write Recode for them. Again though, you start with a title and trim down to chapters.

Otherwise you might look at DVD decrypter in IFO mode to isolate a single chapter to work on.
