  1. I used to have a ATI AIW 7200 (AGP) that I used to capture VHS -> AVI and Analog TV -> AVI using the Picvideo Codec and Other Lossless Codecs. I then either converted to VCD, SVCD or DIVX using CCE/TMPGEnc. This was all on an older system.

Now I built a new system, and I'd like to do the same. VHS -> AVI (also to DVD), and Analog TV -> AVI using a Lossless Codec or Picvideo.

    My system is a Asus P5W DH Deluxe, Dual Core E6600, 2GB RAM, Sapphire X1950PRO 256MB PCI-E.

I looked at Hauppage, but they can only do MPEG1/2, so that option is out. Are there any other decent PCI cards that can do what I want? I'm looking at the ADS Pyro API-555 unit for VHS -> DV-AVI, however would I be able to hook up Cable to this, and record TV?

Another thing is, I plan on getting the DVICO FusionHDTV RT Gold for Hooking up my HD Cable too. This should let me grab HD content (QAM), but read that analog isn't so hot.

I also own a Panasonic PV-GS300 DV Camera, but it don't have pass-through.

    Thanks for any help.

    EDIT:

Would these work, ATI's (AMD's) site don't have much information.

    ATI TV Wonder Pro (550)
    ATI TV Wonder Elite (550)

The 650 would be nice if it does AVI, but no QAM support.

  2. No one?

Maybe the ADS Pyro A/V Link API555 will do that trick.
