Sony RDR-VX530

i have gone through 3 of these already.i was almost happy with the 3rd one,untill i went to play a cd.it "skips" the first split second of the song on random tracks,on random (commercial)cds.i bought a brand new cd today and it did the same thing as the old one.the recorder works fine for dvds.i havent spent much time with cds on this machine,but i did notice the first one i had also skips the same way,and passed it off as "o well i can live with that".i returned it because of the dvd part.the second one (open box)was returned because of the remote and vcr part.the third one (brand new),which dose the same thing as the first one with cds,is working fine with dvds and vhs.I can just say its too bad my japanese sony(made in china)dosent work as well as it should.i have always trusted sony and bought it even after reading all the lousy bad reviews the rdrvx530 got,and agree its kind of a klunker.although there is some suggestion that dvd is designed primarily for dvd,it might play cds as well as it could.my old symphonic dvd player played cds just fine,and even played the same discs im having problems with the sony.(i even remember playing cds on my ps1)SONY!!SONY!!SONY!!Sony suggestes i bring it in for service,although the first and third ones,brand new,right out of the box both did the same thing with cds.i bought it mid jan 2007.am i missing something here?is there some technical flaw here?inherit of the sony unit?inherit of dvd recorders?i am very displeased with this its not the cd so its got to be the sony any help or suggestions or knowladge on this would be apprieciated,thanks!!

after a year of trying to work with this machine comming to the point that it would not load the sony discs it recorded,its going in the trash.-X-SONY-FAN-
