  1. I am capturing very high quality MPEG1 files that look great on the PC and encoding them to standard VCD format using TEMPGenc (with some options turned on). The problem is that they become so blocky afterwards (they look terrible on my 27 inch tv). I was wondering if there was a way with TEMPGenc to maybe shrink the output (video size not file size) down so it isn't streched so much and looks less blocky?

  3. reducing the size won't help. when you stretch the video back out it is just like zooming and the blocks will show up.

how are you playing them on your tv? with a standalone dvd player or with a video out card?

  4. With a Sony DVP-NS400D DVD player (great player btw: so far it has taken every cdr I've thrown at it). I just seems like the quality could be so much better. I downloaded the space balls vcd clip from this site that was done with borders or wide screen or something and it looked pretty good. It wasn't strech across the whole screen. I'd almost like to have the same simalar type.
