I just got my 1st dvd burner, a Maddog, lightscribe 18x triple format internal dvd-rw model # is md-18XTLI. I have avi files that play fine on my pc but when I try to author a dvd out of them, I get random spots during the episode playback where the video seems to speed up and the audio is obviously out of sync then after a few moments it corrects itself. Some of my episodes play fine, it seems random. I am new to dvd authoring and just joined the forum today hence posting here in this forum first instead of the dvd forum. have to wait 1 day. I am using Winavi standard edition version 7.7 to convert from avi to dvd format and then using nero 6614 and dvd author pro version 21577 to burn the dvd. I used each of the former to burn a dvd and have the same result. Any advice or others having similar trouble or maybe someone can point me in the right direction.. thank you

Try another all in one converter like ConvertXtoDVD (there's a trial version I think), and see if you get the same results. I'm betting WinAVI is at fault here...

Peruse these forums, this has been covered many times.
ConvertXtoDVD, as was mentioned, is a better app than WinAVI and is very good at maintaining sync when converting.
