This software was first reviewed in the MAC forum a year ago. Since 95% of the viewers on this forum use Windows I wanted to do a new post listing the latest features.
Democracy TV's website reads. "We're developing the Democracy internet TV platform so that watching internet video channels will be as easy as watching TV and broadcasting a channel will be open to everyone. Unlike traditional TV, everyone will have a voice."
It's a great tool for organizing RSS video feeds, wrapping all various video search engines in one package, watching net TV, and best of all enjoying its open source nature.
Democracy TV can be set up just like any TiVo or DVR. On the left column, the end user can organize an unlimited amount of RSS video feeds from any source that supports the technology. The user can also add or search for just about any video resource as well; however, the player already has search engines for YouTube, Google, Yahoo, and Blog Digger pre-installed. Another useful feature is the ability to submit a video to Digg, Del.icio.us, or the many other link sites.
Democracy TV also maintains an extensive channel guide listing that includes an array of creative commons material such as "Ctrl+Alt+Chicken" and many others.
