I used to be able to get great sound come out of my speakers with no SPDIF when the Ac3 ACM codec speaker settings were set to 5.1 channels. It played perfectly once a long time ago....I dont know how i got it to work....The Sound Card I have is a Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer 5.1 24-bit soundcard. with Creative 5.1 speakers (non-digital). My audio for any video i encode with Ac3 comes out all garbled. And it didnt use to in the past. Can anybody please help me? Figure out the right settings to get 5.1 sound from my 5.1 speakers when i very well should be getting it? I think it could also be bpartly because of where i have my speakers plugged in, I get left channel sound in the right or center and it is all basically mixed up....The diagram in the instructions was and is just plain to confusing and to top it off the card isnt color coded. and the explanations of the instructions where confusing too. Theres another question I have....I have always been forced to choose which audio source of a two audio source movie or series or whatever i want to convert to divx avi for my dvd player...But I just dont know how to rip the audio tracks from an ogm or mkv and add both of them into the final avi.....Does it work the same way as making the ogm's and mkvs in virtual dub? or is there an easier less confusing way? And sorry, I know that last bit might not belong here but it is audio related.

Here's a test ac3 5.1 file. Very useful to ensure your channels are correct. Does it play ? If not, download VideoLan (VLC) and open the AC3 up with that. Does THAT work? If it DOES, then it is your AC3 Decoder - download and install Ac3filter http://ac3filter.net/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=18 - BUT, DON'T install it until you've tested audio with VLC first.

Here's the manual for your card from Creative. Look at the "Connecting Speakers" Section

    http://ccftp.creative.com/manualdn/Manuals/TSD/7544/A2ZS.chm

    1) Make room, and get some lights so you can see what you're doing

    2) Get behind the PC and get to the speaker inputs.

    3) Unplug your cables and Follow the illustration in the docs.
