hi, i have a pretty standard keyboard with an exception that above the f1-f8 keys, i have these optional keys such as : stop, play, internet, media player, calculator ...etc i was wondering if there was a way to change what the buttons trigger on my computer. For example, right now if i press the "media" button, windows media player pops up, would there a be a way to change the factory default to say.. something like winamp?? thanks for your help.

ps. my keyboard had no manual.

Probably. You must have a program somewhere in the computer that is mapping those keys to those functions. I would look for it first. Or if it's an aftermarket keyboard, look on the bottom for the manufacturer and check their website for a program.

All the ones I have used with those sort of keys came with a disk or floppy with the program on it, that should also be available from the manufacturer.

Also, you could try Start->Setting->Control Panel->Keyboard then Buttons tab. Look for the amdeia button. On my keyboard I don't have a media button, but I do have a cd/dvd burn button, and under the keyboard buttons tab I have the option to change it to any program of my choice. So maybe you'll have these same options for the media button.
