    I'm currently ripping and encoding on an Athlon 1400 512MB DDR RAM on Windows 98SE.

    Would I see a vast improvement if I upgraded to an Athlon XP 1700 and installed Windows XP Pro.

    Would I need the latest Version of TEMPEnc to use XP?

    yes you would see some improvemens from speed if you upgradeuor CPU but why in the blue moon would you upgrade to XP.....XP is just to much work for one person to activate and when your going to put new hardware on your PC you have to call them and activate it again....so i suggest you get Win2000 or stick with Win98
