I'm looking for a codec called Super Realtime Video Codec. A video taken from a video surveillance camera won't play on most of the PCs at my work but it will play on 1 employee's. I've used multiple codec packages and used GSpot to find out the codec I need and it always points to SRVC, or Super Realtime Video Codec. Needless to say I can't find this codec anywhere on the Internet. Is there a different codec I can use, or am I misinterpreting the problem? The video won't play period in WMP or VLC or Media Player Classic, but I can get it to play with black, scrambled video with the BoliGego Codec Manager package. Anyone know where I can find this codec or how to fix this video?? Thanks!

    *EDIT*

The video is currently in .avi format.

most single and dual codec security cam recorders use some form of mpeg4 or M-JPEG2000 ... if you knew the brand name of the recorder it would help a LOT (not the chipset) ...

SRVC codec is only used by a few recorders as far as i can tell ...

if it plays on one employee PC , it would be easy to find out which dll it is and copy it and re-reg it on another machine ....

I'm pretty sure it's a RecWatch MR-9020. BTW the employee that supposedly had the video playing actually didn't so I can't copy his dll. Thanks for the help!

I found an employee that can view the video and we determined that srvc.dll is the codec that is used on his computer. We copied the .dll to another computer and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? By the way, thanks for the link but none of those applications play the video.

Ok I just fixed it. This installer installs the SRVC on your PC. http://www.3rtechnologies.com/DVR%20Program/DVRCodec.exe

    Thanks anyway!!

srvc.dll can also be a trojan also btw - so be careful ...

put srvc.dll in your path (in system32 dir. for example)

and on the command line type "REGSVR32 srvc.dll" (without the quote marks)

    see if that works

*** edit - i see you got an installer
