    Hi

Usually when you want to save an image to your folders, you right click and an options box pops up to save to- this isn't even happening! Nothing appears, the egg-timer only briefly flicks on. My computer firewall and AVG are fine and haven't alerted me to any virus etc.

What do you think is wrong, and is it easy to remedy?

    Thanks

Sounds like you have either a popup blocker gone haywire or an adware/malware varmint. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to look for any out of the ordinary named apps loaded in your task manager. Run Spybot Search and Destroy as well.

Is this just on a particular page, or every page?

Some pages try to stop you saving images by javascript tricks. You can defeat them easily enough:
    1) turn off javascript; or
    2) look in your cache files; or
    3) make a screen capture as a last resort.

    Thanks Soopa

Ctrl-Alt-Delete reveals nothing unusual other than named tasks. I will download and run Spybot though...

    Cheers

Alan, it's on every page- this problem's returned!

I've since uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox(2007- although the 'options' seem more limited?) on my XP, got full Windows protection and run AVG & Adaware! I've checked the settings in the 'tools> options>' tab as far as I can see and all seems ok.

So I can't figure out why this keeps failing to work? Is it common?

    Cheers

Has your RMB died? Does it work on your desktop, for example.

When you say all pages, do you mean all pages ON A CERTAIN SITE (that might be blocking it on purpose for their own reasons via javascript), or every site you try? If you're using Firefox, does it work in IE on the same pages?

I haven't tried IE, but on Firefox after a couple of hours, this save option fails as described. No option box even appears, despite my settings checked and running AVG/Adaware.
