hi guys i've just reformatted my pc and so i've lost 6 years of programs and codecs!
my question is :what is the best pack of codecs out there ? before this happened i use to look for and install codecs on a need base, now that i'm starting from zero again i would like to install the best codecs in one shot without causing problem to my os.

Don't do codec packs. Not worth it.

Just do divx and xvid and the rest as you need them. Safest route.

You'll find most users here will agree with me.

Codec packs are as bad as a computer virus, it does so much damage.

    Yup....

If you want to cover 90% of them, just install Videolan (VLC). It has most codecs built into the player.

Do NOT install K-Lite, whatever you end up doing.
