Always print after you first burn to the CD/DVD disc ... or in other words ... burn first then print.

As for printing I suggest using one of the Casio Printers: CLICK HERE

A friend of mine has the Casio CW-75 and it works really well.

He uses the "shiny silver" Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs from RIMA.COM and they also carry "shiny silver" Taiyo Yuden CD-R media.

Granted this type of printer is really only good at text and maybe a very simple "graphic" but it looks clean and professional and most importantly since it is a thermal printer the ink will NOT come off from rubbing or normal disc handling etc.

Burn first .... print second ....

    Reason
If your burn should fail for some reason you won't have wasted time and money (ink) on the printing process ...

I have on occassions printed the disk before burning ... usually because i was burning in one pc whilst printing from another and i needed to cut the time factor involved with burn first ... print second .... there is no reason other than the one above for doing it that way .... burn reliability is the same regardless of whether the disk is printed first or not

    Burn first, print second.

If you print and burn right away the ink will crack on the DVD. Try it. The ink dries too fast.

What rubbish ..... i've printed hundreds of cd/dvd's immediately after burning and i've never seen any ink cracking .... and why would the ink crack? ... how do you reach this theory?

I burn what I need , then print. Normally do batches of around 10-15 discs. Then print and store in cases.

    Good Luck

Burn, test, then print. I try to let them dry overnight.

So if I am on a time crunch, I can experiment with my new printer and then burn on those discs I've already printed, right? My bad burns have been so rare, I think it's a pretty slight risk that I waste any ink by ending up with a coaster, anyways...

If you are in a time crunch and want to experiment with your new printer, let the ink dry, for say 24 hours, before burning.

If you are on a time crunch, what difference does it make as to what order your do them in. You still have to let ink dry. I wouldn't want wet ink on a very hi speed rotating disc being thrown around inside the my dvd burner. My advise is always print direct to disc, don't use labels.
