Hi folks, this is my first post in this great forum.

Did anybody else test the new version (1.00) of Gfd and encountered the same problem like me of not being able to import mpeg2files anymore? Not a single one. After dragging the files to the workspace an error message states: no sequence header found!
I'm using ProjectX to demux tv-captures and Cuttermaran to cut them. There is no problem importing elementary streams but multiplexed mpegs the program just refuses so I'm pretty sure it is an mplex related issue. But since I have been using version 0.99 for a long time without any problem I doubt that my files are actually the reason for this error.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Regards

  2. Hi gsing, welcome on board!
Can you open the files in ChapEditGFD (if started directly)?
I have not changed this part of the code for a long time...
BTW: Which muxer do you use with Cuttermaran?

    Hi Borax,
it's no problem opening the files via chapeditGFD.
    I'm using mplex (-f 8 ) in Cuttermaran

    Thanks for your quick reply.

  4. Could it be, that the mpg files are somewhere 'opened' by another program? In this case also the error message 'no sequence header found!' would arise, as GfD cannot open the file and therefore not read the sequence header...

I just tested it, closed everything, even antivirus app. No success. I guess if that was the reason ver 0.99 would have failed as well. But that's what puzzling me the most, that I didn't change anything except updating GfD.

  6. That's really crazy... I've just reinstalled GfD 1.00 myself. No problems!

  7. Ok... I've found the error... It arises if the mpg files are in the root directory of a drive (that's something I never do myself and unfortunately VB omits the \ char from the path in this case). BugFix asap. For the time being just put your mpg files in any directory.

    That's it
    Thank you so much!
Before reading your post I uninstalled 1.00 reinstalled 0.99 and all worked smoothly. I would have never guessed that. So it's my bad keeping all my mpegs in a long row on one big drive. Getting them out of root dir perfectly fixed it.
I hope I didn't waste too much of your time.
GfD is such a powerful app, thanks so much for your work.

  11. Oh my god - and I thought all of my mpeg2s are broken!

Google was no great help for "Kein Sequenz - Header gefunden!"

  12. My apologizes for the error again
But it was 'inside' the development version for several month already and nobody complained! As it seems, all 'development version testers' put their files in folders and not in the root directory...

Google was no great help for "Kein Sequenz - Header gefunden!"
    I can imagine
