  1. After I installed Windows Vista (full install after formatting my HD) my DVDDecrypter pops up the following message before exiting (Failed to set data for "DVDDecrypterPlayDVDMovieOnArrival") Not a big deal because I can hit the exit "x" and get out of the program but what does this message mean and how do I get rid of it??

Try setting compatibility mode to Windows XP for DVD Decrypter and see if a) the message goes away, and b) the program runs.

  3. That didn't seem to help, it still does the same thing on exit. Here is the log it produced if it makes any sense to you:

    I 16:39:38 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started!
    I 16:39:38 Microsoft Windows 98
    I 16:39:38 Initialising ASPI...
    E 16:39:38 Unable to initialise ASPI! - WNASPI32.DLL
E 16:39:38 Reason: The specified module could not be found.
E 16:39:38 You need to install an ASPI manager.
    E 16:39:38 Visit http://www.dvddecrypter.com to download one.
E 16:39:38 Alternatively, try changing the 'I/O Interface' in the Settings to a different one.

I must be missing the WNASP132.DLL driver. I am a little reluctant to install one because Vista is a pain about drivers it doesn't recognize. Installing Alcohol 120% for instance caused me to have to re-format and reinstall all my programs from scratch. Don't want that to happen again.

  6. Hmm, someone with Vista might be able to help. The Vista compatibility list below says DVDDecrypter should work:

Out of curiosity I'm gunna poke around some more, maybe I'll find something. Good luck.

I had all kinds of error messages on vista with decrypter until I disabled the user control on my account. Now I have no problems. Decrypter dosn't seem to be buffering but My disks all turn out fine. To disable user control click start/run type in msconfig.ext, click on tools, and disable uac.. you will have to reboot. I guess it has something to do with vista security. I am not running decrypter in compatibility mode either. Hope this helps

OK smokies430, here are the solution, right click the DVDDecrypter icon on the desktop and click property, down in the botton click advance, and click run as administrator, (you no need to check the run compatibility)
go to start, control panel and click user accounts, click in turn User Accounts Control on or off, and turn user account control off, you can open Decrypter and close with not problem.
