  1. in powerdvd, i can play xvid/divx through installing those codecs, but I cannot seem to play any RMVB eventhough I installed real's codecs.

anyone know how i can play it in powerdvd? reason why i want to play it in powerdvd beacuse i like powerdvd's playback x2 feature. no other players has this

but if you know of a filter/AVS script for MPC, or anohter player that can paly RMVB and allows playback speed to be at X2, please share.

    thanks!

Did you install Gabest's realmedia splitter? That together with real's decoders should allow playback in any dshow based player.

MPC should be able to play it back 2x speed though. mplayer also, but it doesn't keep the pitch (don't know if powerdvd does).

As for AVISynth, there is the TimeStretch function, which can preserve pitch.

  3. yes i have that RM splitter installed. maybe.. powerdvd isnt a DShow player? Though i'm pretty sure i was able to use FFDshow with powerdvd. Or it isnt using that particular splitter somehow? Can i force powerdvd to use it?

Yes, MPC can play at 2x, but like u said doesnt keep ptich. Powerdvd does.

Thanks i'll try to experiment with Timestretch
