I would like to make a video of pictures with film border that rolls out continously in the video. Also it would be nice if it's rolling out continously a little diagonal with black on the background. Pls help.

Heres one idea.
Using a photo editor create your full screen slide. Make the photo the correct size like 720x480 and about 100dpi. Color/edit it so it looks like you want your slide to look. If you want a black border then create that also.
Then simply select the center portion (in your photo editor) and paste into a photo then save that combination as a new file. Do the same for all the photos you want to include in your video.
I use Ulead VideoStudio v10 so I would create a new project and add all my new slide-photos in the order I want them to display and give them my desired running time. To make the motion of the file strip rolling by use the PUSH transition menu and select the SIDE transition effect. Set the direction arrow and the running time you want.
By adjusting the running time for each photo and also for each transition you can achieve scroll, push with pause, push and reverse, or whatever you want. By creating your slide with matching sides it will look seamless as it goes by. You know what I mean.
Add music, etc into 1 of the 2 audio tracks, etc, and/or add video. Pretty open after than.
Hope this helps.
Good luck. -
Hello Scorpion King,
Thanks for the quick reply. The film border template is a big help. I'm using Premier 6.5 but there's also a push and a slide transition (their effects seems to be the same, I think any of these 2 transition will do the effect that I need- what do you think?)
But the final film clip didn't look like a continous scrolling because there's a black space preceeding every picture. How do I remove these black space so that the pix will be side by side each other and will appear to be a continous roll of film?
And how do I make these rolling strips go the diagonal direction like pulling the film strips from right top to left bottom -
I'm not that familiar with Premier but in Ulead VIdeoStudio the push transition works by "pushing" the 1st picture off the screen with the edge of the 2nd picture. Slide - slides the 2nd picture over the 1st picture while leaving the 1st picture in place. Video clips works the same way. So in Ulead there is a difference between the two types. lol You'll just haft to test that ok.Originally Posted by philippinewebspace
You are getting black bars around your photos (videos) because the Aspect Ratios do not match the template (project settings). When the program resizes the photos while keeping the AR it must add the black bars. Its better to use photos that are the right size/AR or if you can set the program to crop instead of adding the bars. I guess the difference between square and non-square pixels will come into play here. I'm not sure exactly how Premier handles photos but I assume that is what is happening. But the final film clip didn't look like a continous scrolling because there's a black space preceeding every picture. This version of Ulead has buttons for Keep Aspect, Fit to size, Pan and Zoom, plus other available effects when adding photos. Using these functions makes it about unnecessary to resize photos like I used to do with my earlier versions of the program. Premier may have similar controls.
I can choose a transition in Ulead that can do the diagonal entry-exit but not with the push effect. With Push it's only square entry-exit like top-bottom-side-side, not right top to lower left. Slide on the other hand has diagonal entry-exit but there needs to be something underneath it. You know what I mean. And how do I make these rolling strips go the diagonal direction like pulling the film strips from right top to left bottom
Good luck.
