hello,
i have a pinnacle DC2000dv video card installed in a turnkey
system i purchased over 6 years.
However the computer is now very old and tired and i need to get it replaced.
It's not worth upgrading this machine so I plan to purchase a new computer system, but get the dc2000 installed within it.
would anybody be able to advise on the optimum/ideal system spec this card is compatible with.
many thanks

That's quite an old card, but there is a compatibility list at Pinnacle: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/support/HTMLPage.asp?HTMLPages_ID=47&Langue_ID=7 It's near the bottom of that page.
The only problem you might run into with a new system is Vista or 64bit additions of it and XP. But you might check with Pinnacle for driver availability with either of those. For now, I would suggest XP Pro. And watch for problems with video card compatibility. The support page above may help for that, but it's probably out of date concerning newer video cards.
You might look around Pinnacle for a link to a forum where you would have more access to users that may be using the card on newer computer systems. A new system should include at least two hard drives. Other than those recommendations, most any new system should give you a big boost in productivity. A dual core would also be a plus.
And welcome to our forums.
