  1. The advantage of chapter is that you can seach movie fast by pressing
"next" or "prev" button. I created chapters with VCDEasy 1.0.7.
It looked OK and I like this feature.

BTW, it looks like that the player doesn't know which chapter the movie
is now. For example, say the movie has 10 chapters.
When I go to chapter 2 by pressing next button twice and watch movie
somewhile, then movie passes chapter 5 or 6.... When I press next button
the movie doesn't go to 6 or 7. It goes back to chapter 3 again because
the player doesn't know current chapter and remembers the previous
    selected chapter.
Is this normal behaviour with chapter playing? How can I fix it?

I've been creating chapters, too, with VCDImager and my Apex 660 responds the same way. From what I gather that's the way it's been designed to work because that's the last "selection id" you've moved into in the PBC. What I do is program the numeric keys of the remote with additional commands like:

    <select ref="selection-m2-0"/> (this programs numeric key "1")
    <select ref="selection-m2-1"/> (numeric key "2")
    <select ref="selection-m2-2"/> (numeric key "3")

for every entry point . That way no matter where you are in the clip, you can jump to any other entry point. If the "select ref's" are the same in each "selection id", then pressing "1" always takes you to the beginning, "2" takes you to the next entry point and so on.
If I recall, TSCV seemed to be a little buggy in this regard, so I edit the XML with Wordpad. Keep reading the manual.txt file that comes with VCDImager. It's all explained there very well.

  3. Thanks, Mike. That's what I wanted to know.
Well... PBC doesn't know what the current chapter is and always
    remember the last selected chapter...
I wondered if I did someting wrong.
Anyway, I'm going to read manual to find out how to program
the chapter search as you suggested(I bought this player a couple of
days ago). That is a greate workround.
    Thanks again.

I just checked out those articles referred to in the previous post - could've increased the slope of my learning curve substantially. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to author with menus and chapters. It will be well worth your time in the long run.
