    I'm trying to convert a .flv to a .avi. Do I need some supplemental dependencies to make it work (ie I dragged the file in to ffmpegx and hit "encode" but upon trying to playback, it failed)? Thanks

    Sometimes it fails because audio and video tracks are inverted. In that case, enabling "Invert mapping" in the audio tab may fix things.

    Sorry I didn't mention- I tried that as well as lowering the screen size in video
