I have an LG RH177 recorder connected to a JVC LT 32270SR TV using progressive scan.
I have a Sanyo VCR M2921R Video recorder that I was using previously to record material.
I'm trying to copy material from video tape to the recorder and from there will archive to DVD.
The VCR is connected to the AV2 input on the LG recorder via SCART.
When I select the AV2 source for record on the LG recorder I only get audio - no video is recorded .
I've tried using the other SCART connections on the LG recorder also with the same result and I have also tried different configuration settings for the AV2 input on the LG recorder.
Has anyone any ideas what the problem might be.

Any help would be very gratefully received.

    Thanks,

    Tim

Is the material on the VHS commerically recorded video or is it your own.

    You may be being Macrovisioned.

Probably not, because LG recorder would put a note on a screen "Uncopyable movie" and would not start to record.

I always use connections in front of the LG recorder (not scart) to connect a VCR. That should be AV4. Maybe you could try that.

  4. Is the scart input set to RGB or Composite? match the input and output settings. failing everything try a different scart lead

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I know I've tried different SCART inputs on the recorder and I've had AV2 configured as Auto, RGB and CVBS - all without success.

The only thing I haven't tried is the input on the front of the recorder (requires a SCART breakout lead). I'll give that a try and get back to you.

    Thanks,

Sorry for the delayed response. Just to close this one out - I went through all of the connections again at the weekend and presto! suddenly it started to work.

I can only assume that one of the scart connectors wasn't seated properly initially (most likely the one on the video since I kept changing the others).

    Thanks for your help.
