Is there a way to make WinXP with SP2 slipstreamed bootable like original WinXP CD? The copy of original XP CD boots just like original CD, but the disk with SP2 slipstreamed doesn't boot. If attempt is made to create bootable CD in Nero, it boots to DR DOS instead of booting to WinXP as does original and copy of original CD.

  3. nLite is another one, very easy and free. You can slipstream a service pack, even remove components so they never install. Yeah, just burn the ISO. Here:

Here's something a bit more elaborate:

    Good luck.

Autostreamer doesn't work. Double clicking Autostreamer.exe file starts Autostreamer Setup instead of giving CD and other options as it should according to instructions. nLite appears to complete, but it doesn't show where iso file is supposed to be and no iso file is found via file search. Have you any ideas of fix for these problems for either program?

Success achieved on second try with nLite. The first time operator error by yours truly was the culprit where during the procedure I made the silly mistake of clicking "Next" without first clicking "Make ISO." I don't know what's the problem with Autostreamer, but nLite working is all that I need. Thanks for the help.

  6. nLite always works perfectly for me. Not to be a wise guy but...surely you missed something? Happens to the best of us. How about trying again, carefully double-checking each step. It will prompt you as to where it should save the bootable ISO, so evidently it did not complete.

[EDIT] Well, you beat me to it. Between doing a run-through with nLite and my slow typing...
