Ever since I installed SUPER 2007 back in early January it has completely rejected all AVS input, no matter how simple or complex the script. Here's what happens:

I create a very simple script like so:

    Code:
    wavsource("C:\1\mobile\source-20s.wav")
Simple, only one line pointing to a 20-second WAV file. But SUPER 2007 spits out an ffmpeg.exe error...

After 3-4 seconds the above error dialog will disappear on it's own accord and I'm left with SUPER's red ERROR remark. If I just input the WAV file and bypass AviSynth, then SUPER 2007 has no problem. Yes, this is a solution for this particular project but eventually I will need to use AviSynth more extensively. I use AviSynth with MeGUI just about everyday with no problems so I can't help but think it's SUPER 2007 with the "attitude problem" here. By the way, I'm stuck using SUPER 2007 for it's ability to produce 3GP and AMR files that are compatible with Samsung mobile phones.

Has anyone else had any similar behavior with AviSynth and SUPER 2007?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Not surprising. Super2007 has had a host of problems as of late. The earlier versions were better. Check the version of ffmpeg.exe - anything before Sept 2006 is bound to give you problems with .AVS scripts.

If you have .NET 2.0 installed, you can test out this simple downmix script - it'll tell you if you have a problem in Avisynth. Just feed it the input.ac3 file which is also linked in the posting below.

    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=320614

You can even feed it a .WAV file. Make sure you rename the file to input.wav, and double click the
    _WAV_Encode.bat file to process.

    Try updating ffmpeg:

Although come to think of it I think the bitrate syntax changed somewhere along the line so just updating ffmpeg might not work.

I believe SUPER uses its own custom builds of ffmpeg, anyway, so replacing ffmpeg with a different version might not work at all.

There is some truth to what Ai Haibara says.

In fact, as a test, I renamed the SUPER 2007's ffmpeg.exe to "ffmpeg.exe.old" and pasted a different build of ffmpeg.exe in it's place (C:\Program Files\eRightSoft\SUPER). SUPER 2007 doesn't even launch. There are so many different builds of ffmpeg that quite frankly I'm too lazy to try them all. Suffice to say, SUPER 2007 looks for a very specific "ffmpeg.exe" upon launch.

Thanks Soopafresh. I'll try that as soon as I can.

ffmpeg shouldn't be modified since I would assume that they have GPL features enabled, so they would need to release source for any modifications... I don't see any source.

All they've mentioned on their forums (though a while back) is that they're using 'custom builds.' Beyond that vague reference, though, they haven't said anything, so I wouldn't know if that means they're merely compiling the binaries a certain way, or actually modifying them in non-standard ways.

There was this post on the SUPER forums back in September: http://www.w3exchange.com/t295-violation-of-gpl-and-lgpl-software-licenses.html
...but they supposedly resolved that, as it was reportedly one of the issues delaying the most recent release. I couldn't say.

this would be the newest version , it has created quite a few problems with various softwares, lucky for me, I don't use verymany

the thing is, the older version does 3gp 3g2 very well, and might 'make nice' with avisyngth

I needed the newer version for , the vorbis support in transcoding 3g2 with vorbis sound into other formats, ( taking the video from my phone and making mpeg or avi ) the old version of super produced silent films..

but back on subject, I have the older version in my download archives, and can upload to a hosting site if you want it

i'm sure others also have it
