  1. Dear forum
I recorded some tv programs using the dvb-t usb dongle (am in UK) in mpeg2 format.
Each file was about 1gigabyte in size. I wished to remove the tv commercials from the video before writing to dvd. I was told that a program called "video redo" could do this easily. so I downloaded it.
Indeed it proved easy to cut the commercials out but when I saved the amended file. I noticed it was only 225mb in size - only a fraction of the original size - even though the tv commericals were only a fraction of the video content of the file. Therefore I must conlcude that file has been changed and quality loss is likely.
What I really want to do is cut out adverts only . Please does anyone know of a program that can handle this.
    Yours with thanks

Videoredo is one of the best. Are you sure you cutted correctly? If you view the cutted video is it the entire video. Are you using the automatically ad remover?

But you can also try MPEG-VCR, MPG2CUT2, TMpgenc mpeg editor.

    Try this:

    http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/tda20.html

You can load the video using the source selection and edit out commercials using the select beginning and end frames and hitting the "cut" button. Very simple to use.....
