I am planning on making a compilation DVD on a dual layer DVD made from several smaller DVDs (all are PAL). Since the sources are DVDs they are all ready in VOB format. I will be using Nero to create the compilation. I have done this before without problems where all sources were same aspect ratio, but this time three are in 16:9 and for two are in 4:3.
Can a DVD have content in different aspect ratios (for example titles 1-3 in 16:9 letterbox and 4+5 in 4:3) or does a DVD have to be purely one or the other?

Yes, you can mix different aspect ratios but you must create separate titles/tracks for each video and I don't think nerovision supports it. I use tmpgenc dvd author, click add track to create a new title for different aspect ratios.
