  1. I am planning on making a compilation DVD on a dual layer DVD made from several smaller DVDs (all are PAL). Since the sources are DVDs they are all ready in VOB format. I will be using Nero to create the compilation. I have done this before without problems where all sources were same aspect ratio, but this time three are in 16:9 and for two are in 4:3.

Can a DVD have content in different aspect ratios (for example titles 1-3 in 16:9 letterbox and 4+5 in 4:3) or does a DVD have to be purely one or the other?

Yes, you can mix different aspect ratios but you must create separate titles/tracks for each video and I don't think nerovision supports it. I use tmpgenc dvd author, click add track to create a new title for different aspect ratios.

DVD Workshop and DVD Lab Pro can also do this.

or use dvdshrink. just drag and drop the titles, and use the range control if you only want a small part of each file. each will be it's own titleset, and you wont have a menu, but... it works.
