  1. Hi all,

Anyone tried to make an avi from HD film?
If the source is 1080, can you keep the same resolution?
Is a 4.3 gb dvd disk enough to store this, with high quality? Or u need 8 gb dl ?
Any desktop players out there that can play this large (larger than 2 gb) avi file?

    ....so many questions.....

    thanks

Yes, you can keep it 1080 but no desktop divx/xvid players can play it...or well some few(~30 ) players can play divx hd in 720p/1080i and maybe 1080p.

Best would make it with h264 video in mp4 or mkv using MeGUI and play on a HTPC.

  3. Hey Baldrick, thanks for the quick response.

I can play hd avis or mp4 in my pc , no problem there. A hd avi player would be handy tho, no need for hd dvd media (expensive).

BTW, would i care about i or p, my lcd is progressive anyways...

    thank you
