this is no doubt a total newbie question. but i cannot figure out how to extract track 2 audio from an xvid .avi file. track 1 can be extracted fine with quicktime pro, but it doesn't even see track 2. audio track 2 plays fine with VLC, but it can't be extracted.
i dont' want any re-encoding, just the audio in whatever original format is contained in the xvid .avi file.
to make matters more confusing, ffmpeg has audio tracks that start with 0 (0, 1, 2, etc), while VLC is 1, 2.
thanks!
edit:
ps, i tried the the quick preset for movie audio to mp3 for audio track 2, then audio track 1, then audio track 0. each time i got a 0 byte file as an output.
i did change the audio bitrate to 144 kbit, because that's what VLC says the bitrate for track 2 audio was.
