I use ATI all in wonder to capture a movie from TV tuner. I used the instructions found here for setting the custom settings since the slide bar under custom is not exact. The tool here sets it for 1.15 meg per sec in the registry. I find this strange since the VCD setting is 1.05...
Okay , on to the problem. If I record and leave alone, it burns to a VCD fine. If I split in half with TPMG it is fine. BUT IF I edit out the commercials using MyFlix 3.05, and save , the audio is out of sync. Other items I use (non cutsom settings work fine) and I can split them using myflix.
The question is, does MYFLix have a problem or are the directions here for the 1.15 meg per sec incorrect and creating a problem ?
Any help would be appreciated...I have read all about sync problems and I have tried various fixes. I believe the sync problem I have is variable, not fixed, so somehow the Myflix conversion is bad. Either by itself or due to the 1.15

Not sure about the editing/cutting problems but VCD standard is 1150kbit/s or 1.15mbit/s so that's correct.
Are you encoding you captured source, then editing out the commericals? Its (normally) much easier to edit out the commericals from the source, then encode. There are a lot of ways to do this, but I recommend loading your captured source in Virtual Dub, selecting the start/stop points you want, then frameserving to TMPGenc (or you could save as a new avi and then open it in TMPGenc). -
VCDCutter will do the job for you. It is a lousy tool but when talking about VCD compliant files it works great, I use it to cut my VCD ATI AIW at 1.15Mbps captures.

I have discovered the problem is myflix.
I reset the settings to the 1.05 (thats the default under PRE SET VCD compliant) just to eliminate that.
Record a 1/2 hour show. Viewed and all is in sync.
Moved to myflix. Took first part before the commercials and a second piece just after the commercials.
The whole thing is out of sync by about 1/4 second. That tells me that MYflix has an encoding bug. I noticed this too with home video's. If I cut them in pieces and rebuilt, I had sunc problems.
Any suggestions for my flix ????
