    can anyone please explain me how to add a subtitle( .srt) file inside an avi movie to watch it later in my divx player? I know a pc software that does that ( AviSub), but is giving me some problems, although it is a very simple software that only does that( embeding subtitles on divx). So I decided to start doing that on MAC using the ffmpegX. Is it possible to do that with this software? and if so how?
    thanks very much for your time

    a) Burn the movie_name.avi and movie_name.srt in the disc and your standalone should access it.

    b) If you don't like the result, burn it into the avi with ffmpegX:

    1) Choose DivX mencoder in the preset - "MPEG4 [.AVI] (mencoder)" shows in video pane;

    2) Load movie_name.srt in the Filters pane (AFAIK, current mencoder font/size/location parameters are locked at the default settings, use older ffmpegX binaries if don't like the default parameters). Encode;

    3) Reencode above with "XVID ffmpegX" preset for standalone compatibility.

    Anyone have a better suggestion?
