I'm tired of my system being tied up encoding MPEG most of the time, so I had a thought, what if I could use an old base unit I have to be a "slave" system, to do the encoding, while im happily doing other things (pwning n00bs usually)...
By slave system I mean a system controlled through my main PC using remote desktop. This slave system, would have nothing connected but the power and network cables as I simply dont have room for a second monitor keyboard etc. It would also be set so I could access the desktop and have full control over it.
Am I going to run into trouble anywhere here? Would the slave system be happy without a mouse and keyboard installed? It all sounds so deceptivly simple...

It would be easier to use a KVM switch or similar to share the KB, mouse and monitor. Just do a Google search for KVM and you should see quite a few versions. Some are very reasonable in price and easy to use.

I'd do KVM. I do this at home.
RDP is very slow. I do this between work and home.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
