  1. Hi Friends

I am visiting this site often to check how to create VCD. Recently I found some interesting news about Ulead DVD MovieFactory software. I downloaded a trial version and created a VCD out of it. Everything went on well without any problem and burned the VCD on to a disk. Then I tried it on the standalone DVD player (AIWA XD-DV370). To my surprise, nothing happened. The DVD player recongnized the VCD and displayed the no of tracks on the VCD. But after couple of minutes it stopped. Can somebody help me and tell what will be the problem. I am giving the system specification used to create the VCD.

    Pentinum III 485 mhz.
    Acer CRW 1208A (32x12x8)
Memorex CDRW 4x Multi speed 650 mb 74 minutes
    Ulead DVD MovieFactory
    Aiwa XD-DV370 DVD player

The following are folders created when I burned the VCD on to the CDRW.
    Cdda - empty folder
    Cdi - empty folder
    Ext - empty folder
    Karaoke - empty folder
    Mpegav - 6 Dat files
    Segment - 2 Dat files Item0001.dat and Item0002.dat
    Vcd - 4 .vcd files Entries.vcd, info.vcd, Lot.vcd, Psd.vcd

Please, somebody in the forum help me in solving this problem. I am in process of creating the VCD for past 6 months, till today, I never created even 1 VCD successfully.

    Thanks

I have also a AIWA XD-DV370. It never had a problem with VCD's.

I have used NERO and Ulead DVD factory. How did you encode you Mpeg1? Which internal burning software from DVD factory did you use?
Did you ever try NERO? Are you using CD-R or CD-RW?

  3. Also, does your VCD player on your PC (with a software DVD player like PowerDVD or WinDVD)? Have you tried it on any other DVD player?

  7. Hi Friends

    Thanks for your response.

xzarkad : What do mean by internal burning software. I captured, edited and exported the VCD using Ulead DVD MovieFactory. And then burned it on Memorex CDRW 4x Multi speed 650 mb 74 minutes. Can you tell me, there is any difference in the dye coating of the CD. What CD brand did you used to create the VCD.

Vitualis : I tried on the VCD player in my computer, worked well. I dont have any other DVD player to test it.

Once again thanks for your replies, I like to have more comments from you guys.

  8. hi,what the person means by internal burning software is what program does your cd writer use,eg: nero, easy cd creator, direct cd,etc, your cd writer must have a program running it,what is the vcd you are making,is it a movie,if it is a movie is it NTSC or PAL.

If I remember correct, the DVD factory program will give you a choise between two burning programs. Try not to use the Ulead software, but the other one (forgot it's name)

Do not use CD-RW. The Aiwa player accepts all CD-R brands. ( I have tried at least 20 different brands)

    How do you encode?
