  1. Hi

I try to convert a mpg1 file into mpg2 using tmpgenc
the source file is about 1 hour long and it play fine for the full hour using windows player classic
After converting the file if I look at the result output file, it freeze at about 15 minutes of the beginning the same frame is stuck there until 2 minutes before the end of the movie ???

Can anyone have any idea why this this is happening and how can solve this issue ?

    thanx

Could be a number of things. You'll have to try one thing at a time to figure it out.

    1) Bad source file

    2) Bad resulting file

    3) Bad Mpeg2 Player

    4) File size limitation

    -----------------------------------------------------

Try demuxing and remuxing the mpeg2 audio and video in TMPGenc. If that doesn't work, try demux-remux (under Mpeg tools in Tmpgenc) of the MPEG1 file, then try encoding THAT file.

If you're doing this because you want to author to DVD, consider just demuxing and resampling the audio to 48k. MPEG1 video works fine on a DVD if your authoring program isn't too stiffnecked to accept it.

but now when I try to open the audio mp2 file to remux it I have this error

me I would to a file copy on the orginal, then open that and edit out the frame where the movie hangs, then let tempgenc or another program do the encode

in other words remove the spot that is currupting the final product

BUT thats just my point of view, one frame out of 30 for that second sure isn't going to be missed when you play the movie

    Error from what?

Did you resample the original audio?
VCD MPEGs have audio sampled at 44k, DVD needs 48k.

Well, you did say "illegal audiostream".
MPEG1 video is fine for DVDs, but the audio has to be resampled.

Was the error from an authoring app? Or what?
