I recently tried to install Pinnacle Systems Studio Plus Movie Maker. It uses a free standing USB video capture device. When I tried to use the product, it could not find the correct drivers for the video capture. I contacted Pinnacle’s technical support and they suggested downloading the most recent patch for their software (10.7) and reinstall; which I did and I am still having problems.

What happens is when I plug the video capture device in, somehow device manager loads a device driver called DVB-T. I believe this is because it is left over from when I installed ATI’s Wonder TV tuner card. When I see the problem, I use Device Manager (WIN XP Home SP2) to uninstall DVB-T. I have tried to completely uninstall anything and everything associated with ATI. I have completely uninstalled the Pinnacle Movie Maker product and used Pinnacle’s REGCLEAN program to rid the registry of any remnants of Movie Maker. I have also downloaded and used a program that claims to scour my entire system for any device driver associated with ATI. I used both of the ‘cleaning’ programs in safe mode. I have also tried to manually install the device drivers for the Pinnacle 710 video capture device directly off the distribution CD.

However, without even starting the Movie Maker program, I watch Sound, Video and game controllers in Device Manager when I plug the video capture device in, DVB-T BDA USB RECEIVER is loaded and not the Pinnacle drivers that are suppose to load.

I assume that I must find the program associated with DVB-T and delete it. However, so far I have been unsuccessful. Maybe, I am looking in the wrong direction for a solution. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Greetings - don't know if this will help - but... I use the same program on my PC and when I upgraded pinnacle, my computer still sees the old box but calls it Movie Box- it's not movie box... but the program still works...using the old device.. have u to tried to see if it works even though it acts like it's not "seeing" the correct external box? My external device came with the Dazzle set up before Pinnacle bought it out - still works fine - but is not called by it's real name in the program- looked all over for the "correct" drivers etc - couldn't find - and tried it anyway with the wrong name in system and it still worked fine- just a thought...
